Executive Chairman of the Board

Mr. Martin has been CEO of WELM Ventures, a venture capital firm, since 2011. WELM invests in early stage companies in information technology, digital media and medical device industries. From 2013 to 2017, he also served as a senior executive of Truven Health Analytics, a $600 million (revenue) global healthcare analytics company, owned by private equity, which sold for $2.6 billion in 2016 to IBM Watson Health. Before that, for 18 years Roy was a senior executive and one of 5 division CEO’s at Thomson Reuters, leading global businesses in the legal and scientific markets. He was most recently the president & CEO of the 5,500 employee Thomson Reuters Tax & Accounting business, where he was credited with the company’s successful worldwide expansion, and its explosive growth from $450 million in revenue in 2004 to $1.2 billion in 2011.

Mr. Martin holds an MBA from Emory University and maintains an office in downtown Minneapolis, MN.


Mr. Helms is President of Helms Capital LLC, an investment firm he founded in 2012. He has a long record in corporate finance and law, spanning more than 35 years. He previously served as President, Managing Partner and CEO of Goldsmith Agio Helms, a boutique, sell-side M&A advisory firm. Based in Minneapolis, the firm grew to approximately 150 employees, and opened offices in Los Angeles, Chicago and New York, as well as established joint venture partnerships throughout Europe. Goldsmith Agio Helms was acquired by Lazard and renamed Lazard Middle Market, where he served as Chairman through early 2012 and then transitioned to the role of Senior Advisor. Jack has also been an active investor in privately-held businesses. In the last 15 years, his investments include more than 40 privately-held businesses and more than 60 private equity and mezzanine funds. To continue and expand his direct investing in privately-held businesses, he formed Helms Capital, LLC, a private merchant bank.

Mr. Helms earned his law degree from the University of Michigan Law School, and is a member of the Minnesota Bar. He graduated with a BS in Industrial Administration from Iowa State University, and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a member of the Minnesota Society of CPAs.

President and CEO, Director

Mr. Killion is a seasoned industry executive with 28 years of serial medical device development, clinical evaluation and commercialization experience. He most recently served as President of Sealing Solutions Inc., where he led the company from inception in 2008 to its successful acquisition by St. Jude Medical in 2010. Preceding its acquisition, Sealing Solutions had developed an innovative vascular closure device capable of enabling a wide range of minimally invasive procedures. Prior to joining Sealing Solutions, he held a variety of cross-functional senior management positions at Boston Scientific including global marketing, business development, and program management. During his 13-year tenure, Doug was responsible for leading four major new business initiatives within the company. Before joining Boston Scientific, he held various medical device engineering and project management positions at SciMed Life Systems.

Mr. Killion earned his MBA in Strategy and Marketing from the University of Minnesota Carlson School of Management, and holds a BS in Mechanical/Biomedical Engineering from the University of Minnesota.


Mr. Roche leads Roche Consulting, LLC, a general health care consulting and investing firm providing strategic, operational, legal and other business advice to industry clients. He previously served as General Counsel of UnitedHealth Group, a position he held during the company’s rapid growth and multiple acquisitions. He then founded and ran the Ingenix (now Optum Insight) division of UnitedHealth. After leaving UnitedHealth, he has worked as an investor, legal and business advisor, and consultant in the health care field, including as a principal in Vita Advisors, LLC; as a senior consultant for Triple Tree, and as founder of Roche Consulting. Kevin researches and writes extensively on health care and other public policy issues. He has extensive experience in health care mergers and acquisitions, having participated in over 70 transactions with sizes up to several billion dollars.

Mr. Roche earned his law degree from the University of Minnesota Law School, and holds an MBA from the University of Minnesota Carlson School of Management.

Senior Vice President of R&D, Co‑Founder, Director

Mr. Ziebol has over 20 years of experience in building companies. He founded Ziebol & Associates in 1994 and Pursuit Medical, LLC in 2008 to help start‑up companies develop medical device concepts into commercial products. He has successfully demonstrated his abilities in helping build nine companies, taking multiple products from idea to market, and leading diverse teams to successful product outcomes. He has extensive experience in dialysis-related technologies, holds twenty issued US patents, several pending patents, and has authored five publications. Bob is also a member of a large angel investment group, and his experience in screening hundreds of companies for potential investment and leading investment due diligence teams gives him a unique perspective for creating value within a company.

Mr. Ziebol has BS degrees in both Engineering Physics and Electrical Engineering from South Dakota State University.
